At Painted Horse Experiential Learning, we offer equine-assisted learning experiences that are underpinned by multiple evidence-based models. Our focus is on supporting personal growth, regulation, self-awareness, and meaningful change.
While this is not therapy or counselling, our practitioners are trained in trauma-informed principles, mindfulness, gestalt-based awareness practices, and somatic approaches. We incorporate these skills into sessions to strengthen the connection between body sensations, thoughts, and emotional wellbeing.
Equine-assisted learning is a hands-on, experiential approach that invites awareness and learning. Sessions are facilitated with care and intention, supporting participants to explore patterns, build awareness, strengthen confidence, and develop practical life skills in a way that feels embodied and real.
Horses are at the heart of our work. As highly sensitive, relational animals, they respond honestly to what is happening in the moment, offering powerful opportunities for learning through interaction rather than words. Participants are invited to engage with horses on the ground- observing, reflecting, and learning through experience.
Alongside the horses we honour the role of nature, mindfulness and presence; creating a space for learning that feels grounded and respectful.
Painted Horse Experiential Learning offers Equine-Assisted Learning, not therapy or counselling. Sessions are trauma-informed and grounded in therapeutic principles, but do not replace mental health treatment.
Painted Horse Experiential Learning was shaped through the intersection of lived experience, professional training, and a lifelong connection with horses. It grew from a desire to offer meaningful learning experiences that are grounded, ethical, and deeply respectful of both people and horses.
For many years, horses have been central to my own personal development journey. Alongside this, I spent time seeking a way to include horses in my professional work that genuinely aligned with my values. Much of the traditional horse industry did not reflect how I believe horses should be treated or partnered with- as sentient, responsive beings rather than tools for performance.
Equine-assisted learning brought these worlds together. Through formal training and ongoing professional development, I found a way of working that honours horses, while providing participants with a structured, supportive, and safe experience.
This work is purposeful and relational. It’s about creating a space that is calm, grounded and empowering; where people are supported to explore awareness and growth alongside horses, guided by a trained facilitator who understands both the responsibility and privilege of holding this work.
I am a certified Equine Assisted Learning Practitioner with training in trauma-informed care, nervous system regulation, and somatic approaches to wellbeing.
My background includes years of navigating personal healing, professional growth, and the courage to start again. I bring lived experience, and a deep respect for the unique worth of all people and horses who work with me.
At Painted Horse, you will be met without judgement. I hold a space that is warm, respectful, and focussed on your empowerment; not by giving answers, but by helping you uncover your own inner wisdom.
At Painted Horse, everything we do is guided by a set of values we live by:
This is a space where healing doesn’t have to look like talking and growth doesn’t have to look like striving. It can look like silence, breath, a shared moment with a horse or the herd.
We specialise in working with individuals who are seeking personal growth, clarity, or change; whether you’re building emotional resilience, improving communication, deepening relationships, or reconnecting with your confidence and inner knowing.
Our clients come from all walks of life and often arrive during times of transition, uncertainty, or overwhelm. You may be carrying stress, questioning your direction, or feeling disconnected from yourself or others.
At Painted Horse, you will find support that is psychologically informed, trauma-aware, and grounded in the real world. This is not about fixing, it is about helping you reconnect with your essence, your own inner wisdom, your nervous system, and your capacity for change.
